b-side
Tears involuntarily splash her cheeks. Her shoulders fall from the release of anxiety and tension of the weeks of anticipation. She sees him strumming the guitar, in her hat on stage. she stands with her hands clasped over her mouth in awe, listening to the music she's heard so frequently on her own cd player. A high fills her head, and a smile brightens her face, the tears trickle into the corners of her mouth. watching each of them completely absorbed in the notes that trickle directly from their imaginations, the ecstacy is apparent in each of their sporadic smiles. During the last part of their second song, the balled up fuscia panties fly from her fingertips and land at his feet. At first his face brightens in glee, a playful gesture from the fans. Then as he looks up and meets the eyes of the source, her eyes that have been haunting his dreams, his mouth opens in shock and he nearly loses concentration. They finish their set, and he comes down to greet his supporters. Finally he ventures over to hug her. 'I can't believe my mom came!' he exclaims 'I can't believe YOU came!' he says even louder. When he asks her what she thought of the show, her body tenses with emotion. She had never seen them perform. Had never heard their creativity and watched it shoot from their bodies. She barely found the words to tell him that the one thousand and two hundred thirty five miles she had just droven across the country by herself had completely evaporated into the depths of the dry desert. The words she had rehearsed in the car's silence no longer made sense. She could not even find her thoughts coherently enough to pour them out to him. Her words fell to the ground, and could not fly with the colors of emotion that boiled in her belly. The intensity and anticipation of arrival that had developed almost to overwhelm her completely had flooded from her body the instant she had stepped into the venue. She smiles and squeezes his hand. 'I loved it' she says. And then she kisses him.
